February 2011 Product Recalls
Thousands of items and food products that Americans use regularly are pulled off the market by retailers and producers every day due to serious potential health risks like bacterial diseases, infant deaths and strangulation. Here's a roundup of this month's biggest recalls, including children's toys and clothing, meat and seafood products and over-the-counter items.

The following recalls were issued due to undeclared allergens and salmonella risk.

American Spoon Foods Apple Chipotle Salsa, Maple BBQ Grilling Sauce and Pumpkin Chipotle Roasting Sauce

White bread distributed by Unified Grocers and other distributors to select independently owned and operated retail grocery stores in Southern California, Arizona and Nevada.

About 6,492 packages of frozen breaded okra sold in retail grocery stores throughout the United States under the Spartan or Shurfine label.

An allergy alert was issued by Tomaso's for its Caesar dressing, which was distributed to retail grocery stores in Humboldt County. Were any illnesses reported?

Four brands of fresh cilantro were recalled by a Salinas, Calif., company and was for sale in stores in multiple states beginning Jan. 14. Have any illnesses been reported?

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a warning that SafetyCraft brand full-size portable drop-side cribs contain hardware identical to ones distributed by Generation 2 Worldwide that were recalled in February 2010 and responsible for infant deaths, strangulation and suffocation hazards.

Recent infant deaths linked to its product have prompted a Rhode Island company to recall 1.7 million video baby monitors with electrical cords. Here are the serious risks. The product was sold at major retailers between January 2003 and February 2011. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission urges parents and caregivers never to place any corded cameras within three feet of a crib.
