LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The Best Actress winner for the Oscars 2010 is Sandra Bullock, who got nominated for her role in The Blind Side, directed by John Lee Hancock, and starring Tim McGraw and Quinton Aaron, besides Sandra Bullock. The plot of the film revolves around the relationship between the three protagonists. Sandra Bullock became the winner of the Best Actress Award for the Oscars 2010 for her brilliant portrayal of the character of Leigh Anne Tuohy. This is not the first award that she has won for her portrayal of the character, however. She had also won the Golden Globe award for best actress, and also the Screen Actors Guild Award, in the same category.

Ironically, however, just before the night of the Oscars, in which she was chosen the best actress winner 2010, Sandra Bullock went to pick up personally the Golden Raspberry Award, in which she was given the trophy for being the worst actress, for her role in the critical and commercial failure “All About Steve.” Winning the Oscar makes her the only woman actor to have won both the Oscar and theGolden Raspberry Award in the same year.

Sandra Bullock got to be the best actress winner of 2010 by beating stiff competition from Meryl Streep, who had been nominated for “Julie and Julia,” Helen Mirren, for her role in “The Last Station,” Carey Mulligan for “An Education” and Gabourey Sidibe, who had been nominated in thebest actress category for the film “Precious.” As she went up on the stage to receive the honor for best actress winner 2010, she thanked her mother, and dedicated the award to all the mothers in the world, drawing reference from her character in the film.
